Robot police. It's not sci fi.

The concept of an automated robot army fighting on the front lines of battle has been slowly moving from a fantasy to a reality over the last thirty years. Yet, it's hard to imagine how robots could be effective in a military combat setting where 99.99% of all fighting is done at a distance of 100 meters or more.

No, the reason robots are being developed by the military is for crowd control in "civil disturbances." You know - situations where people take to the streets to demonstrate against war and corruption.

The development of "robot killing machines" is paid for by civilian american tax payers so it can be adopted by "civilian law enforcement" once the military has perfected it. Where is it being perfected? In Iraq and Afghanistan where the military can experiment with it on a real civilian population.
